About Arbor Gaming: Our Canadian Team & Review Methodology

Who we are

Arbor Gaming (arborprotreeservice.ca) is an independent Canadian gambling information site. We are not a casino, a sportsbook or a payment processor — we do not take bets, hold player funds or run any games. What we do is review, compare and explain the gambling options available to Canadians, in plain Canadian English, so that you can make an informed choice before you sign up anywhere.

Our coverage spans three verticals: online casinos, single-game sports betting (legal nationally since Bill C-218 in 2021) and crypto casinos. Our mission

Our mission is simple: to be the most honest and useful gambling guide a Canadian can read before they deposit a dollar. That means telling you when an operator is offshore-licensed rather than pretending it is regulated at home, flagging a punishing wagering requirement even on a site we otherwise like, and steering anyone who is struggling toward help rather than another sign-up button. Editorial independence & how we make money

Like most independent guides, we are funded by affiliate commissions rather than by charging readers. When you follow a link and open an account, the operator may pay us a referral fee. Here is the part that matters: that arrangement is completely walled off from our editorial team. Rankings are set by the weighted score, an operator cannot pay to move up, and we routinely rank sites that pay us below sites that pay us less — or list them with clear warnings — when the data says so. If we ever recommend against a partner, we say so in plain language.

Our Canadian focus

Everything we publish is built for Canadian players. We quote figures in Canadian dollars (written C$), test Interac e-Transfer because it is the rail most Canadians actually use, and explain the rules province by province — Ontario’s open iGaming Ontario market, Alberta’s private market that launched on 13 July 2026, and Quebec’s Loto-Québec monopoly among them. We also cover the things generic sites skip: that recreational gambling winnings are tax-free under the CRA’s windfall rule, and that converting crypto to CAD can still be a taxable disposal even when the winnings themselves are not.

How we keep content fresh

Gambling terms move fast, so every page shows a “Last updated” stamp and is scheduled for regular review. When a bonus changes, a licence lapses, an Interac option is added or dropped, or a province changes its rules, we update the affected pages and re-stamp them. If we can’t verify a value, we write “See operator site” rather than guess — we never invent bonus, wagering or licence figures.
