Our Authors: The Arbor Gaming Canadian Editorial Team

Meet the Arbor Gaming editorial team — Canadian iGaming writers, payments specialists and responsible-gambling reviewers behind our casino and betting guides.

Trustworthy gambling advice depends on who is giving it. That is why every page on Arbor Gaming carries a named author, an area of expertise and a “reviewed on” date — so you know a real person with relevant experience stands behind what you are reading. Our editorial standards are built around Google’s E-E-A-T principles: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness. Our writers have first-hand experience opening real accounts, timing withdrawals in CAD and reading the fine print, and they bring years of professional background in casinos, payments, odds analysis and blockchain.

Daniel Tremblay

Daniel Tremblay

Senior Casino & Payments Editor

Daniel is a Montreal-based iGaming journalist with more than a decade of experience reviewing online casinos for Canadian audiences. He specialises in the plumbing that actually decides whether a casino is worth using — payment rails, withdrawal speeds and the realities of Interac e-Transfer through processors like Gigadat, iDebit and InstaDebit. Fluently bilingual, he is as comfortable dissecting a Kahnawake licence as he is timing a cashout to the minute.

Areas of expertise: online casino reviews, Interac and CAD banking, payout speed testing, bonus and wagering analysis, offshore licensing.

Reviews: best online casinos in Canada, Interac casinos, fast-payout casinos, casino bonuses, minimum-deposit casinos.

Sarah McLeod

Sarah McLeod

Sports Betting Editor

Sarah is a Toronto-based sports-betting writer and former odds analyst who spent years on the trading side before moving into journalism. She covers the single-game betting market opened up by Bill C-218, with a particular focus on the NHL and CFL and on reading value across Canadian sportsbooks. She is a stickler for explaining odds, margins and promo terms in language a casual bettor can actually use.

Areas of expertise: sports betting markets, odds and margin analysis, NHL and CFL betting, live and in-play markets, sportsbook bonus terms.

Reviews: best sports betting sites in Canada, NHL betting guides, sportsbook welcome offers, betting-app comparisons.

Marcus Chen

Marcus Chen

Crypto Casino Analyst

Marcus is a Vancouver-based analyst who covers the crypto-casino space, where he pairs a background in blockchain with a healthy scepticism toward hype. He is a provably-fair specialist who verifies game fairness on-chain, tracks Bitcoin, Ethereum and stablecoin deposit flows, and explains the tax wrinkle Canadians most often miss — that converting crypto winnings back to CAD can be a taxable disposal even when the winnings themselves are tax-free.

Areas of expertise: crypto casinos, provably-fair verification, blockchain payments, stablecoins, crypto tax considerations for Canadian players.

Reviews: best crypto casinos, Bitcoin casino guides, provably-fair game explainers, crypto deposit and withdrawal guides.

Editorial standards

Our writers work to a single rule that overrides everything else: be honest with the reader. That means naming offshore licences for what they are — the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, for example, is a Mohawk Nation regulator located in Quebec, not a Canadian provincial or federal licence, and we say so plainly whenever it comes up. It means flagging a punishing wagering requirement even on a site we otherwise rate highly, and it means we never claim an operator is “licensed in Canada” when it isn’t. Affiliate commission plays no part in any ranking; positions come only from our published review methodology.

Fact-checking policy

Before a review is published, every hard figure — bonus size, wagering requirement, minimum deposit, licence number, supported payment methods — is verified against the operator’s current Canadian terms or the issuing regulator’s register. We never invent values; where an operator hasn’t published a figure, we write “See operator site” or “Verify current terms” rather than guess. A second team member reviews each page for accuracy, and we re-check live pages at least monthly, re-stamping the “Last updated” date whenever anything material changes.
